Two years on the full lees without bâtonnage. A deep, broad-textured Riesling
The grapes come from a hand-harvested slate vineyard in Burg Layen. After a day of skin contact and gentle pressing, the wine ferments and ages in traditional Stückfass barrels, and spends two full years on the full lees without bâtonnage – an unusual length of time for Riesling. The wine is bottled unfiltered and with no added sulfur. The nose brims with ripe peach and apricot alongside an impression of beeswax and honey; the palate reveals a broad, rich texture that replaces the sharp line familiar from the Nahe region, supported by excellent acidity and leading to a long, lingering finish.
