2021 was a late, cold vintage in Nahe. Christine waited until the end of October for golden-ripe grapes. The fermentation started slowly, stopped in winter, then restarted in late spring - going for over a year total. The barrels (big traditional Stückfässer) were always cloudy and smelled beautifully yeasty. The wine aged two years on full lees until bottling, with no racking. Nothing added, nothing removed - Christine's philosophy in practice. Half fermented in small used barrels, half in stainless steel. The ancient Kieselstein (sandy quartz pebbles from prehistoric seashores) provides the mineral note that defines this wine. Pale gold. Aromas: white blossom, citrus zest, green apple, pear, honey, coconut, subtle petrol. Palate: fresh vibrant acidity, lemon, green apple, creamy mouthfeel from lees aging, mineral edge. Long finish with wonderful minerality. This is not ordinary Riesling - it has depth, complexity, and that characteristic Piri precision. Pairs beautifully with fish, seafood, light chicken dishes. Natural sparkle sometimes present from wild fermentation. Biodynamic influences | Wild yeast | Unfined, unfiltered | Zero or minimal SO₂ | Drink 2024-2032
