Little Sister Red Bio 2023

There are wines meant for cellars, and wines meant for tables. Little Sister belongs to the second category - and proudly. This is Sommer's young, sociable blend, made from 20-30 year old vines, but with all the seriousness of a 325-year-old winery.
Intriguing blend of Blaufränkisch (Burgenland's indigenous variety), Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - Leo doesn't reveal exact percentages, but it doesn't matter. What matters: the vines grow on schist (metamorphic rock), hand-harvested, fermented and aged in ancient barrels and concrete vessels. Zero filtration, low sulfites, pure low-intervention.
In the glass: Young red with gleam. On the nose: Green herbs, red fruits (cherry, raspberry), warm spices, touch of herbal bitterness. On the palate: Juicy like biting fresh fruit, acidity refreshes, tannins barely there, and complexity surprises despite the lightness. There's interesting bitterness adding depth, and beautiful balance between fruit and acidity.
This is wine for dinner with friends, for charcuterie and kebabs, for pasta with tomato sauce, for an evening of conversation and laughter.
